Your better off leaving it engaged full-time. That system is extremely problematic, and the CAD is weak and prone to shearing teeth. You really don't save much (if any) fuel with it working properly, only risk it not working the next time you ask it to. Lock it ion and forget it, thats what all the newwer jeeps did.
