Why do people predict that Richie McCaw will end his career as a No. 8?

Since he played as an 8-Man for Canterbury this season, people reckon he'll finish his career there as his body won't be able to keep up playing openside. What makes people think that he'll finish his rugby career at the back of the scrum? And who do you reckon will take his spot at 7 permanently?
